Successful Inquiry!

Thanks to the mums, dad and poppa who came to help us complete our inquiry. A big thanks to the PTA who gave us the money we needed. We have been busy painting. You should come and have a look for yourself. The area of the school that we were to look after is finished! The paint looks so bright and fantastic. The rest of the school has been coming to have a look and like what we have done. It has taken a long time getting the games painted but we are proud of what we have achieved. Now it is time to play!

Blue hat thinking! What do we do next?

After everyone had decided on the colours we needed, a group of children went off to purchase them. Rachel at Resene helped us find just what we wanted. She showed us how to mix the right colours. We even got a lollipop! When we got back to school we told the class about our trip. Rachel gave us some colour games for the class and we are enjoying playing them. They are like snakes and ladders.

Maui and the Sun.

In Room 8 we have enjoyed reading and retelling many Maori legend, but Maui is always a favourite. These sun faces were created on a bright sunny day, and made us feel happy. We have displayed them in the school hall.

Mrs Seath says that she is really impressed with our Olympic movie. She likes the way we used interesting voices.

My Greatest Feat

Walk, walk, walk! The 'Greatest Feat' (not feet) programme that gave us all pedometers to walk the length of New Zealand is over. We have finished our walk. We reached Bluff at the bottom of the South Island. We walked nearly 4.000.000 steps. We are very proud of ourselves.

We wore our pedometers in different places.

Our Place

Bellevue School is a great place to be. It is 'Our Place'. We are all looking to see what we can do to make it even better here. Room 8 loves to learn, have fun and play ... so we are looking at where we play and how we can make it better!
The sandpit is fun. The playground is fun. We love the stilts and balls.
What about the concrete games? They are hard to see and so we don't play on them much. We wondered why the paint had worn off.
Did we play on it too much?
Was the paint too cheap?
Was the paint the wrong kind?
This is what we are inquiring about!
What kind of games do the Junior school want?
What about the Senior school games?
We will let you know what we find out and what we decide to do about it.
You might be able to help us!
